We're looking for an Operations Coordinator to help drive the day-to-day success of the Y NSW's growing Junior Basketball Academy (JBA). About The Role

As the Operations Coordinator, you'll be the engine room behind the Junior Basketball Academy, ensuring programs are staffed, equipped and ready to deliver exceptional participant experiences every day.

You'll coordinate coaches, venues, equipment, communications and logistics while supporting operational planning across school programs, clinics, camps and basketball development initiatives.

📅 Program Operations & Delivery

Coordinate schedules across schools, venues and basketball programsEnsure programs are fully staffed and operationally readyMonitor operational milestones and deadlinesHelp minimise disruptions and quickly resolve issues that ariseMaintain accurate participation and attendance records

👥 Workforce Planning & Coach Support

Build and maintain coach rostersMatch coach capability and availability to program requirementsSupport coach recruitment, onboarding and deploymentProvide mentoring, guidance and day-to-day operational support to coachesCoordinate coach development and feedback activities

🏟 Venue & Logistics Coordination

Manage venue bookings, school access and site requirementsCoordinate equipment, inventory and operational resourcesSupport new program launches and school partnershipsEnsure basketball equipment is safe, available and ready for use

📢 Customer & Stakeholder Support

Maintain positive relationships with families, schools, coaches and venue partnersRespond to operational enquiries professionally and promptlyCollect feedback and identify opportunities for improvementProvide regular operational reporting and updates

✅ Compliance & Safeguarding

Monitor Working With Children Checks, qualifications and onboarding requirementsSupport incident reporting, risk management and WHS processesMaintain operational records and audit-ready documentationChampion child safety and safeguarding practices across all programs

🏀 On-Court Leadership

Deliver coaching during peak periods, staff shortages and special programsSupport coaches through mentoring and quality assurance visitsHelp maintain consistent, engaging and age-appropriate program delivery

About You

You're an organised operator who enjoys bringing people, systems and logistics together to create outstanding outcomes.

Essential Experience

Experience in sport operations, workforce coordination, venue management or a similar multi-site environmentExperience coordinating rosters and casual workforcesExperience supporting or delivering youth sport or recreation programsNSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain)Driver's license and vehicle

Highly Regarded

Basketball coaching experience and accreditationExperience working with schools or community organisationsQualifications in sports management, recreation, education or business
