Sous Chef

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and help maintain our high kitchen standards.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to assist with the daily operation of our kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, the successful candidate will help prepare and deliver our breakfast and lunch menu, maintain consistent food quality, and support an efficient and professional kitchen environment.

The Sous Chef will also supervise the kitchen team and oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.

• Support the team with daily kitchen operations and service.

• Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast and lunch menu items.

• Maintain consistent standards in food preparation, presentation, portioning, and quality.

• Assist with supervising, training, and motivating kitchen staff.

• Coordinate kitchen operations and lead service in the Head Chef’s absence.

• Assist with stock ordering, inventory management, and food-cost control.

• Minimise food waste and ensure ingredients are stored and rotated correctly.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.

• Follow established recipes, procedures, and operational protocols.

• Work closely with the Head Chef and management to support customer satisfaction and business growth.

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef, or experienced Chef de Partie, preferably in a café environment.

• Strong experience in breakfast and lunch service.

• Professional, committed, reliable, and able to work well as part of a team.

• Excellent punctuality and time-management skills.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and team-supervision skills.

• Confidence leading kitchen service when required.

• Ability to follow and help implement operational procedures and protocols.

• Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
