Senior Bartender - My Beer Dealer Alfred St Bar and Bottlo

My Beer Dealer is a proudly independent on-and-off premise brand in the Brisbane craft booze industry that has been in business for 12+ years. We aim to be a leader in our sector by championing small producers - be it wine, beer or spirits. We want to share our knowledge and passion and set a high bar for customer experience. 

We currently have three unique locations - one venue in Fortitude Valley which is part wine/beer bar, part bottle shop, two full service bottle shops plus an e-commerce offering. The role would is for our Fortitude Valley location. We are open Tuesday - Thursday 10am - 10pm and Friday and Saturday 11am - 12pm. We have a mezzanine floor for functions and events for up to 60 people.

We are looking for a Senior Bartender who will work alongside a hands-on leadership team. You will be excited to often have a four-day week and three-day weekend. We are seeking an experienced, mature bartender with a minimum of 3 years experience who has demonstrated working independently in previous roles. Your booze experience will be strongest in independent wine and spirits to complement a strong team in craft beer (we won’t complain if your skillset includes craft beer of course). Amazing customer service will be second nature, you genuinely love people, love creating relationships with regulars and fostering new ones.

The role includes:

• 25-30 hours per week but could be a full-time position across all sites to the right candidate

• working with our duty manager to curate memorable function experiences

• work with our other two stores to ensure our bottle shop ever-changing offering stays relevant

• liaise with our booze buyers to ensure our offering is on point and always well stocked

• hands on bartending every shift, our capacity is 120 so we are a small team

What we need from you:

• Passion for small producers and a curious mind to explore the ever changing product offering

• A warm and engaging personality

• A multi-tasker under pressure, who presents every problem with a suggested solution

• Experience in working alone on evening shifts from time-to-time and be able to handle yourself with difficult customers when required (our customers are awesome so very unlikely)

• A banging sense of humour and of course the right to work in Australia, long term

• Your attention to detail needs to be on-point and you won't rest till our bar/bottle shop looks perfect

• you’ll need a strong core as you will be required to move cartons of booze around the bar on a weekly basis

You’ll have 3+ years’ experience in a bar with real experience of working independently and can start in the next two weeks. Experience in a bottle shop is an advantage but not essential.
