We're looking for an enthusiastic, detail-focused person to join our Payroll team as a Payroll Administrator. This is a genuine entry-level opportunity, perfect for someone at the start of their payroll or administration career.

Working under the guidance of the Payroll Team Lead and Payroll Manager, you'll support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for GJK Facility Services and Killara Services employees, assist with pay run preparation, help maintain employee data, and respond to routine payroll enquiries across our large, shift-based workforce.

Full training will be provided in our payroll and workforce management systems, with the opportunity to build real expertise in Australian payroll compliance, modern award interpretation and payroll systems administration.

Primary areas of responsibility and accountability include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the accurate and timely processing of each pay cycle
• Maintaining organised, accurate and audit-ready payroll records
• Responding to routine payroll enquiries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner
• Monitoring payroll inboxes and workflow queues to ensure tasks are actioned on time
• Entering and maintaining employee data, including new starters and terminations
• Processing changes to bank details, superannuation and tax file number declarations
• Assisting employees and managers with basic queries, such as clock-in issues, timesheet corrections and leave balances
• Building your knowledge of relevant modern awards, including the Cleaning Services Award
• Providing general administrative support to the wider Payroll team
  

Requirements:

• Completion of Year 12 or equivalent; study in payroll, accounting, business administration or HR is a bonus but not required
• No previous payroll experience necessary - full training is provided. Experience in payroll, accounts, HR administration or a similar admin role is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard of data accuracy
• Good numeracy skills and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
• Confident written and verbal communication with a professional, helpful manner
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
• Well organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a cyclical processing environment
• A positive, willing-to-learn attitude and a genuine team player
