Accounts/Finance Assistant

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and motivated Accounts / Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional studying accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline to gain practical experience within a diverse multi-venue business.

This is a part-time position under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020, classified as Clerical Grade 2 (Wage Level 3) = $27.97/hr, offering 15 hours per week, with flexibility available around university or study commitments.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Process and code supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match supplier invoices with supporting documentation and approvals.
• Assist with supplier payment runs.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Respond to supplier and internal finance-related enquiries.
• Assist with credit card and expense reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and document filing systems.
• Support month-end finance processes and audit requirements.
• Complete data entry and general administrative duties.
• Contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.
• Assist the Finance team with ad hoc projects and administrative support.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Current studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive, reliable and proactive approach to work.
