THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Control team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting control, you will play a key role in overseeing accounting and financial reporting activities across SAPL and selected Sumitomo Corporation Group companies, while partnering closely with the business and supporting the wider Accounting function.

Duration: 9 months FTC

Working model: hybrid with 2 days WFH option

 KEY RESPONSIBILIES:

• Responsible for accounting, reconciliations and financial/management reporting for SAPL and assigned Sumitomo Group companies, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Lead Corporate budget preparation, forecasting and variance analysis, partnering with business units and providing management reporting.

• Coordinate annual external audits and prepare statutory accounts and related reporting.

• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures and internal controls, including J-SOX and risk control requirements.

• Provide accounting, tax, budgeting and compliance advice to business units and Group companies, including guidance on non-routine transactions.

• Lead and support ad hoc projects, process improvements and special reporting requirements.

• Supervise and support junior team members, providing guidance and assistance to support their development.

• Support the CFO and Senior Manager with projects and the effective day-to-day operation of the Accounting Control function.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a technically strong accounting professional who is comfortable operating in a corporate environment and working with multiple stakeholders. You will bring sound judgement, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• CPA or CA qualification with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting.

• Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with tax effect accounting.

• Strong financial reporting, budgeting and analysis capability.

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

• A collaborative approach, with the confidence to provide advice and partner with stakeholders across the business.
