About Us:
Total Pool Service has been Canberra's trusted pool specialist since 2000. We deliver maintenance, heating, repairs, tiling and safety barrier inspections to homeowners, strata complexes, hotels, government facilities and commercial clients across the ACT. We are SPASA and Fluidra award winners with a 4.9 Google rating, built on doing the job properly and looking after our clients.

We are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take the day-to-day running of the business off the owner's plate and keep our teams, jobs and clients moving.

The Role:
Reporting to the Director, you will own the operational engine of the business — scheduling, technicians, job flow, stock and service delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with at least 5 years' operational experience who enjoys structure, solves problems quickly, and holds a team to a standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage daily job scheduling and technician run sheets to maximise efficiency and on-time service

• Lead, coach and roster the field team; manage performance, training and workflow

• Oversee job quality from quote through to completion and invoicing

• Manage inventory, equipment, vehicles and supplier relationships

• Monitor and improve operational systems, processes and job management software

• Handle escalated customer issues and maintain service standards

• Track key operational metrics (job completion, labour utilisation, margins) and report to the Director

• Ensure WHS compliance and safe work practices across all sites

About You:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in an operations, service delivery or business management role

• At least 3 years' experience directly leading and managing a team of field staff or tradespeople

• Experience within a trade, service or field-based business (pool, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping or similar) — 3+ years preferred

• Strong scheduling and resource-planning ability across multiple crews and job types

• Confident holding people accountable while keeping morale high

• 2+ years' hands-on use of job management or CRM software, with a track record of improving systems

• Excellent communication skills with clients, suppliers and staff

• Commercially aware — understands job costing, margins and productivity

• Current Australian driver's licence

• Pool industry knowledge, SPASA certification or a relevant trade background is highly regarded

Mandatory ACT Tickets & Certifications:

As this role operates within the trade industry in the ACT, the following are required. Candidates who do not currently hold these must be willing to obtain them before commencement.

• White Card (General Construction Induction — CPCWHS1001)

• Asbestos Awareness training

• Silica Awareness training (crystalline silica — mandatory in the ACT)
