Legal Office Junior / Junior Legal Secretary

About the role

One of our busy and highly regarded Compulsory Third Party (CTP) teams in our Newcastle office is looking for a Legal Office Junior or Junior Legal Secretary to join the team on permanent, full-time basis. This office-based role will see you providing support to a team of one Partner, four Lawyers and six Paralegals, together with the support of three secretarial staff.

The team is recognised for its expertise in managing CTP litigation, catastrophic injury claims, complex liability disputes, fraud matters and indemnity issues, acting for major insurers and industry stakeholders across New South Wales.

This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same, and you will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth running of matters for leading Australian insurers.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Opening new matters and archiving completed files
• Conducting conflict searches
• Managing solicitor diaries and scheduling appointments
• Liaising with clients, Court/Tribunals, other law firms, and third parties
• Preparing and filing court documents, including a high volume of electronic filing (iManage experience highly regarded)
• General administrative support

About you

To be considered for a Junior Legal Secretary role with our firm, you must have a minimum of 6 months’ administrative/secretarial/executive assistance. If you're looking to start your legal administration career and have the right attitude, you may be considered for an entry-level Legal Office Junior opportunity.

As this is an office-based position you will need to be able to attend the office full-time; unfortunately, hybrid arrangements are not available.
