Maritana Minerals (ASX: MRT) is an emerging mid-tier gold producer with high-quality projects in the heart of the WA Goldfields.

We’re moving into production and are seeking a experienced Underground Manager to take the reins and lead the safe, productive and efficient establishment of our underground operations. 

Maritana have a pipeline of underground operations over the next five years.  This role will be responsible for the full life cycle of multiple small underground operations. 

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast paced environment for a Manager looking to build both an operation and be a crucial part of establishing a high performing team.

You will:

• Lead the underground operation and hold the Underground Manager (Non-Coal) statutory appointment.

• Be values driven.

• Own safety, development, production, costs and contractor performance.

• Turn mine plans into tonnes — safely, consistently with open communication when operational activities have to deviate from the plan.

• Lead mining contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

• Manage budgets, forecasts, costs and operational performance.

• Work closely with Technical Services, environment, Geology, Maintenance and the broader site team.

• Build the systems, standards and culture needed to get the operation into sustainable production.

• Comply with WA legislation and site standards

About You

You’ll need:

• Mining Engineering or relevant tertiary qualifications.

• First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate (Non-Coal) and eligibility for the WA statutory Underground Manager appointment.

• Significant underground hard-rock experience.

• Proven senior operational leadership experience.

• Strong development, production and contractor management experience.

• A solid understanding of WA mining legislation and critical risk management.

• Experience managing budgets, costs and production performance.

• The ability to lead people, make decisions and stay calm and communicate well both up and down the organisation.

• Current Australian driver's licence.

• Ability to pass a site medical and obtain an E18 Police Clearance.

Location & Roster

Kalgoorlie residential or FIFO Perth on an 8/6 roster.

Work Rights

Full Australian working rights required. Preference will be given to candidates already based in Perth or the Goldfields.
