About the role

Australian Cardiology are seeking a dynamic and resilient Medical Receptionist to join our busy Cardiology clinic. This is not a routine front-desk position. Our clinics are fast-paced, high-volume environments where accuracy, empathy, and composure truly matter. You will be the first point of contact for patients who may be anxious or unwell, and your professionalism will set the tone for their entire experience. While the role demands focus, flexibility, and stamina, it offers the opportunity to build meaningful skills and be an essential part of a specialist cardiac team. We are looking for someone who is willing — or eager — to expand beyond traditional reception duties and assist with some of the technical aspects of cardiology practice. For the right person with the right attitude, full training can be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for patients

• Booking and coordinating patient appointments for cardiologists

• Accurate processing of patient accounts and billing

• Managing a high volume of telephone enquiries with professionalism and efficiency

• Confirming patient appointments

• End-of-day banking reconciliation

• Scanning and maintaining accurate patient records

• Performing ECGs

• Fitting 24-hour Holter monitors and Blood Pressure monitors

About you

• Be friendly, patient, and compassionate in all patient interactions

• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and organisational skills

• Show exceptional attention to detail

• Be able to work independently in a busy clinic environment while contributing positively to a team

• Remain calm and efficient under pressure

• Be flexible and available to cover different days when required

• Be willing and able to attend all clinic sites as needed

• Experience with HealthTrack or similar cardiology software (preferred)

• Previous medical reception and/or medical billing experience (preferred)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (preferred)
