What you'll own:
In a nutshell - run a portfolio like an owner, build the next generation of PAL leaders and operate as the Director’s genuine 2IC.
Run your portfolio like a businessOwn a significant SME client portfolio ($600K fee base within 12 months)Advise across tax planning, structures, CGT, Division 7A, estate planning and advisoryStay across WIP, billing, write-offs, capacity and opportunities to add value
Build great peopleLead and coach a small team of accountants (2 direct reports within 12 months)Delegate well and keep workflow movingGive clear feedback and help people step up
Help lead PALWork directly with our Director as a genuine 2ICContribute to how PAL operates, grows and improvesBring ideas, make good calls and help turn them into action

What you’ll bring:
The important stuffCA or CPA qualifiedAround 10+ years’ experience in Australian public practiceStrong Business Services & Tax experience across complex SME groupsProven experience managing client relationships, portfolios and workflowAt least 2 years’ experience leading, coaching or managing accountantsStrong technical judgement across tax planning, structures, CGT, Division 7A and complex group mattersCurrently based in Australia with full working rights
And just as importantlyLow ego, high standardsCommercially minded and comfortable making decisionsConfident with clients and good at building relationshipsGenuinely enjoys developing peopleTakes ownership and follows things throughBrings solutions and ideas, not just a beautifully formatted list of problem
Salary:
$120K to $160K+ salary, depending on your experience, capability and the level of responsibility you’re ready to own.
We’re open to strong Managers through to Associate Director-level candidates, with the scope of the role and package tailored accordingly.
