The Clinical and Allied Health Services General Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance, growth and sustainability of CatholicCare Central Queensland’s Clinical and Allied Health Services business unit.

The role provides leadership for the delivery, development and governance of nursing, assessment services and clinical and allied health services across CatholicCare’s regional footprint. The position ensures clinical and allied health services are safe, sustainable, professionally led, financially accountable and aligned to CatholicCare’s mission, values and strategic objectives.

Furthermore, the role is accountable for establishing and maturing Clinical and Allied Health Services as a distinct and strategically important service stream within the Community Care operating model. The role strengthens internal clinical capability, supports increasingly complex clients, improves assessment and care planning, embeds clinical governance and prepares CatholicCare for future allied health service expansion.

Key objectives include:

• Establish and strengthen Clinical and Allied Health Services as a distinct and accountable business unit;
• Provide professional leadership across nursing, assessment and allied health services;
• Strengthen CatholicCare’s clinical capability, professional practice and clinical governance maturity;
• Support increasingly complex client needs through enhanced nursing, assessment and allied health services;
• Drive business unit performance across service quality, workforce capability, utilisation, revenue and sustainability;
• Lead service growth, innovation and future allied health service development; and
• Ensure services reflect CatholicCare’s mission, values and commitment to dignity, respect and wellbeing.

The role should be viewed as both a current service management role and a future service development role.

 Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Allied Health, Health Management or a related discipline;
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) where applicable;
• Significant leadership experience within health, aged care, community care, disability or a similarly regulated service environment; and
• Current C class Driver’s license(QLD)

Desirable:

• Postgraduate qualification in Leadership, Management, Health Administration or a related discipline.

• Expert level of clinical, nursing and allied health leadership capability, including the ability to provide professional leadership, lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen clinical capability and support safe, high-quality and person-centred service delivery across diverse community-based service environments;
• Substantial level of business unit leadership capability, including the ability to establish, grow and sustain service streams, drive operational and financial performance, optimise workforce capability and utilisation, and deliver sustainable business outcomes;
• Substantial level of capability in clinical governance and professional practice leadership, including the ability to implement governance frameworks, strengthen professional standards, manage clinical risk, support clinical supervision and promote continuous improvement in service quality and client safety;
• Substantial level of financial and commercial acumen, including the ability to monitor budgets, utilisation, revenue performance, workforce productivity and contribution outcomes to support sustainable service delivery and informed decision-making;
• Substantial level of capability in service development, change leadership and transformation, including the ability to design and implement new service models, support organisational reform, develop growth opportunities and lead the expansion of clinical, allied health and assessment services; and
• Substantial level of stakeholder engagement, collaboration and workforce leadership capability, including the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, foster professional development, support workforce sustainability and create a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
