About the Role

As a Grill Chef, you’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional quality every service. You’ll take ownership of the grill section, ensuring every steak and grilled dish is cooked to perfection while maintaining Hurricanes’ high standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook premium steaks and grilled menu items to company specifications.
• Ensure consistency in quality, presentation and portion control.
• Manage the grill section efficiently during busy service periods.
• Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe workstation.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.
• Follow recipes, procedures and food safety standards.
• Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen culture.

What We’re Looking For:

You are someone who:

• Has at least 2-3 years’ experience working the grill in a busy steakhouse or premium restaurant.
• Takes pride in cooking quality steaks consistently.
• Remains calm and organised under pressure.
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Has excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Understands food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.
• Brings a positive attitude and is eager to learn and grow.
• Is available to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Current Food Handling Certificate.
