Venue Manager - Wurdi Baierr Aquatic & Recreation Centre, Torquay

Lead one of regional Victoria's most exciting aquatic and recreation facilities!

Belgravia Leisure is seeking an exceptional and experienced Venue Manager to lead the operations, people, and performance of the Wurdi Baierr Aquatic & Recreation Centre (WBARC) in Torquay, while supporting the seasonal operations of the newly redeveloped Winchelsea Pool.

About the Role: 

WBARC is the new hub on the Surf Coast, in this role you'll be responsible for creating a venue that becomes the heart of the community, delivering outstanding guest experiences, developing future leaders, driving financial and operational performance, and building strong partnerships with Surf Coast Shire Council and local stakeholders. This is a role you will build from the ground up, fostering the intersection of culture, connection, health and wellness.

About the Venue:

Located in one of Australia's fastest-growing coastal communities, WBARC is a modern, multi-service aquatic and recreation centre designed to support health, wellbeing, participation, and community connection. The centre includes aquatic facilities, health and wellbeing, stadium, and guest experience operations supported by a dedicated leadership team.

You'll also oversee the seasonal operation of the Winchelsea Pool, ensuring residents across the Surf Coast Shire have access to safe, welcoming and high-quality aquatic experiences.

The Opportunity:

• Lead and inspire a large and diverse team of managers, lifeguards, swim teachers, customer experience and health and wellbeing professionals.

• Drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability and service excellence.

• Deliver strong financial outcomes through effective planning, forecasting and operational management.

• Build meaningful relationships with Council, community groups, schools, sporting clubs and key stakeholders.

• Ensure the venue consistently exceeds expectations across safety, compliance, guest experience and asset presentation.

• Identify opportunities to grow participation, memberships, programs and community impact.
