The Role
We are seeking experienced Community Workers to join our Queensland House team in Redbank Plains.
This rewarding role involves supporting a male participant with complex mental health needs to achieve his individual goals, maintain independence, develop life skills, and actively participate in his community. You will play a vital role in providing person-centred support, promoting wellbeing, and creating a safe, positive, and empowering environment that enhances the participant's quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks
• Provide personal care and daily living support
• Support community access and participation in activities
• Assist with meal preparation and household tasks
• Administer medication in accordance with policy and training
• Complete progress notes and documentation
• Follow individual support plans and risk management procedures
• Work in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements
About You
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Community Worker
• Experience supporting participants with mental health needs and behaviours of concern
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with participants and their support networks
• Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or equivalent (preferred)
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Reliable vehicle with current registration and comprehensive insurance
• Current National Police Check
• Current Blue Card / Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Medication Administration Certificate (desirable)
