SUNNY HOMES ACT PTY LTD Sunny Homes ACT Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Cabinetmaker to join our growing residential construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, fitting and repairing cabinetry and other timber-based products used across our residential building projects in the ACT and surrounding NSW region. This position suits an experienced tradesperson who can accurately interpret drawings and specifications, work confidently with a range of timber and manufactured board products, and safely operate woodworking machinery and hand and power tools.

Selecting and preparing appropriate materials including solid timber, veneers, particle board, MDF, laminates and other manufactured or synthetic wood products. Measuring, marking out, cutting, shaping and machining timber and manufactured board components according to drawings and specifications.

Setting up, operating and maintaining woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools used in the fabrication of cabinetry and furniture components. Manufacturing and assembling cabinet components and sections to produce completed cabinetry, cupboards, shelving, vanities and other fitted furniture products. Preparing and assembling components using appropriate joints, fixings, adhesives and construction methods to achieve accurate and high-quality finishes.

Fitting and adjusting hardware including hinges, locks, catches, drawer runners, handles, shelves and other cabinetry fittings. Checking completed components and cabinetry against drawings, measurements and specifications and carrying out adjustments where required. Preparing cabinetry and timber surfaces for finishing and ensuring completed work meets required quality standards.

Repairing, adjusting and refurbishing cabinetry and furniture where required. Preparing cabinetry and components for delivery and installation and assisting with the fitting and installation of cabinetry where required. Maintaining tools, machinery and work areas and complying with workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures and relevant construction-site safety requirements.

Qualification & experience To be considered for this position, applicants should have: Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology, Cabinet

Making, or an equivalent relevant trade qualification along with formal training attained in Australia.   A minimum of 2-3  years of relevant Cabinetmaker experience ; Demonstrated experience manufacturing and assembling cabinetry, fitted furniture or similar timber products; Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, measurements, specifications and work documentation; Demonstrated experience working with timber, MDF, particle board, veneers, laminates and other manufactured board products; Experience using woodworking machinery and cabinetmaking hand and power tools; Strong measuring, cutting, machining, assembly and finishing skills; Good understanding of cabinetmaking hardware, fittings and installation methods; Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship; Good communication and teamwork skills; Ability to work independently and manage assigned work within required timeframes; Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements; and Current driver's licence preferred.
