The Opportunity:  

We're seeking an Assistant Accountant who wants to build on their accounting experience in a business where they can make a real impact. 

 Supporting critical financial processes and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll contribute to the accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement of our finance operations while gaining exposure to a diverse range of accounting activities in a dynamic FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Manage daily bank reconciliations and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and control
• Support month-end activities, including journal preparation, expense reviews, period-end processing, and reconciliation of financial accounts
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including asset capitalisation, disposals, transfer, and depreciation forecasting
• Assist with IFRS16 lease accounting, including monthly journals and budget and forecasting activities
• Support compliance and reporting requirements through the preparation of BAS, FBT, expense reporting and ABS submissions
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance finance processes, systems and ways of working

To Succeed With Us: 

• 2-4 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant, or similar role
• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business, with CA or CPA studies underway or planned
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
• Intermediate to advances Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a collaborative and adaptable approach
