About this opportunity
Provide effective administrative and project support to the Coordinator Strategic Planning and Strategic Planning Team, including assisting with financial, operational and organisational administration to support the day to day functions of the Strategic Planning Team.
Provide administrative support in the preparation and coordination of reports, agendas, minutes, correspondence, strategic planning documents, public consultation activities and community engagement, including attending meetings and recording information as required to support departmental objectives.
Undertake research, information gathering, data entry, record keeping and basic quality assurance activities to support the Planning and Development Department and assist with the coordination and delivery of council projects and continuous improvement activities.
The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Council’s offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim.
Additionally, you’ll also …
• Prepare and maintain project management documentation including project plans and work programs, and associated reporting in appropriate applications and systems as well as provide any additional assistance with interpretation and reporting on project activities as required.
• Ensure allocated tasks and reporting requirements are consistently completed within the agreed timeframes and to a high standard.
• Represent Council professionally and effectively when liaising with internal and external stakeholders and promote Council’s interests and objectives at all times.
• Monitor systems, identify issues and work towards solutions by contributing to procedures and processes thereby ensuring continuous improvement and enhancement of systems and work practices across the Department.
About you…
• Tertiary qualification in Planning, Project Management, or relevant discipline or extensive equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Experience preparing reports, correspondence, documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail including high quality proof-reading and editing skills to ensure communications and reports meet organisational standards.
• Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act, Planning Act 2016, Planning Regulation 2017, Environmental Protection Act and the Local Laws and Policies of Council.
• Experience providing high-level administrative and project support within a complex organisational environment.
