Purpose

The Maintenance Fitter role is a hands-on position that is primarily responsible for ensuring the continual operation and effectiveness of all Plant and Equipment in our Cavan Production facility. The role involves carrying out the site’s preventative maintenance program, as well as attending to breakdowns and using technical knowledge and sound problem-solving skills to resolve issues. 

Accountabilities 

·        Ensure mechanical maintenance of essential services including water supply, air systems, electrical, refrigeration, and more

·        Conduct mechanical work on a range of processing equipment such as conveyors, refrigeration units, boilers, and automated sealing systems.

·        Assist in setting and managing store stock levels to support maintenance operations.

·        Provide trade guidance and prepare technical reports as required to support maintenance outcomes.

·        Promptly attend to critical equipment and plant breakdowns to minimise operational downtime.

·        Complete preventative, planned, and reactive maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.

·        Mentor and support maintenance team members, including apprentices, to build technical capability.

 What you’ll need:

·        Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, with a ‘Safety First’ mindset

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with stakeholders at all levels.  Effective listening skills

·        Problem solving and critical thinking skills to resolve complex challenges

·        A valid Australian drivers license
