About the role

WATCHVIRK PTY LTD is seeking a Watch Polisher to join our team in Melbourne, VIC 3000. This is a full-time position that plays a key role in polishing and maintenance of Luxury Watches. As a Watch Polisher, you will be responsible for polishing and refinishing watches.

Key responsibilities:

• Polish and refinish watch cases, bezels, bracelets and other components using appropriate techniques and materials

• Inspect watches for damage, scratches and imperfections before and after polishing

• Use specialised polishing equipment and tools to achieve the desired finish whilst maintaining precision

• Handle delicate and valuable timepieces with care and attention to detail

• Remove marks, scuffs and oxidation from watch surfaces without compromising the original design

• Work with different materials including stainless steel, gold, platinum and other alloys

• Maintain a clean and organised workstation in compliance with health and safety standards

• Follow quality control procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality results

• Communicate with other team members regarding watch condition and any issues requiring specialist attention

What we're looking for:

• Preferably past experience or training in similar industry or horological technician role

• Intermediate or proficient in polishing equipments

• Understanding of different watch materials and their appropriate treatment methods

• Attention to detail and ability to work with precision on intricate components

• Manual dexterity and steady hands for detailed work

• Ability to follow technical guidelines and quality standards

• Communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of work

• Problem-solving skills to address challenges in the polishing process

After seeing long service wait times and a real gap for an independent watchmaker in the city, we established our own dedicated service centre at the heart of Melbourne CBD.
